Mitch and Ashlie had the cutest outdoor wedding near Branson, Missouri at a friend's private home. It took place on a hilltop with scenic views in front of a quaint country barn that was painted right after 9/11. The front of the barn had a United States flag painted across the front and was weathered perfectly. For seating they had rough hewn benches for guests to sit on, shade trees were close by for shade, though it was a perfect day for a wedding and heat was not an issue!
They thought of so many sweet and thoughtful touches throughout the planning of their special day. They had homemade ring boxes made from a small tree that still had the bark, and ring box lids swiveled open and had the bride and grooms initials on top.
Ashlie comes from a big mixed family with lots of brothers and sisters. As any close family does many of these siblings were a part of the wedding party on both the brides and groom’s side. I could tell they all got along well and humor was not in short supply I can assure you! There were lots of smiles and laughter through out the day!
When they walked down the aisle their bridesmaids and groomsmen all danced down the aisle with their own dances! The crowd loved it!
The ceremony was so beautiful and special and family friend Dr. Gary McSpadden officiated.
We made time for the bride and groom to have couples photos after the ceremony. I strongly encourage all newly engaged couples to make time in their wedding day schedule for this. It is such a special day and you only get to do this once, so please think about making this a priority! You get amazing portraits when you take a little time to plan for them!
The fun continued at the Stone Castle Inn & Conference Center for their reception where they had a pickle bar and a coffee bar for their guests to enjoy before they cut their cake. Guests flew miniature paper airplanes for the bride and groom at their grand entrance instead of blowing bubbles or throwing birdseed. (Just gotta be careful with those!) They even incorporated their mutual love for Taco Bell in the wedding portraits and at their reception!Â
