Springfield Senior Portraits
Founders Park
Do you want senior portraits that are different, and aren't like everyone else's? Location and clothing choices are an important part of making your session stand out. Choice of lighting and lenses are also things that should be considered.
Evan wanted creative and interesting images so we talked about some locations and decided Springfield had some perfect spots for what we were going for.
Founders Park was our first stop. There are so many different areas you can use, lots of straight lines, lots of concrete, so you can go monochromatic but I recommend lots of contrast here. Evan wore two different outfits here and you can see the lighter outfit works as well as the black jacket and jean combo. The near sunset lighting was magical, and the dramatic lighting was just perfection!
Downtown Springfield
Then we moved on to some street shots in different areas before heading to Park Central Square.
This mural was so incredible and colorful, I couldn't resist stopping here to grab some shots.
I've shot on the square numerous times, but these images are some of my absolute favorites!! I really love the angles and lighting!
Tips for Clothing
Evan and I made sure to discuss choices for what he was going to wear for his session. I think this is super important to be on the same page and plan the overall look and vibe you're going for. Colors should work well together with the surroundings so locations should be taken into account. Be sure to work in some accessories like Evan's hat, and be sure to be selective when choosing patterns, stripes and plaids. My recommendation is to have a solid shirt, and one with plaid or stripes or a pattern. Having a jacket to layer over one of the shirts gives more variety also creates more interest in the images as well.
