5 Things to wear for senior portraits at Table Rock Lake near Branson
Oftentimes my clients are overwhelmed with choosing outfits for senior portraits. That’s why I put together this list of 5 things to wear for your senior portrait session at Tablerock Lake so you don’t have to agonize over your outfits!
Here are 5 clothing items to choose that will start your outfit selection process. Always make sure you have several options and go over these options with your photographer.
Shorts – Classic options are denim shorts or white shorts which give you the most variety of outfit possibilities. You can dress up your denim with a cute spaghetti strap floral top or a flowy or lacy top. Dress them down with a graphic tee or a halter top! White shorts are cute with a denim top.
Dress – Patterned or solid, a flowy dress is so pretty! Colors that stand out from the water or foliage are preferred. Pink, red, yellow, orange, even white is sometimes a great option! What you want to think about is your outfit contrasting with the surroundings, so you stand out!

Jeans – Black or denim give you so many options for outfits so pick your favorite! (White jeans are also not a bad choice depending on your style!) Bonus points if the jeans have been distressed and have rips or holes!
Jacket – A preppy looking windbreaker is cute, or a hoodie is a classic! For photos near water a green or orange windbreaker is a good option, and a red hoodie is my personal favorite! (Denim trucker jacket is another great option, especially with a white or orange top!)
Optional:
Swimsuits – One pieces are great for ease of movement. Or go with a bikini for wow factor or trunks that show off your personality!
If you wear a bra, make sure the straps either convert or wear a strapless bra. Many times, it takes tons of work to Photoshop those out, and it can run into extra cost to get rid of them!
Self-tanners are great to get that golden tan look without spending lots of time trying to get that naturally and avoiding skin damage to boot. If you go the self-tanner route, be sure and follow the instructions and don’t forget to scrub your palms clean once you’re done! Un-even application and not using lotion are two of the biggest culprits in needing Photoshop to even things out.
Get yourself a manicure and pedicure before your session especially if you’re going barefoot or wearing sandals in your images!
